To Thine Own Selfie Be True | NIL Week 4
In this next part of the NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) series, Pastor Rick Vannoy continues teaching on how we move from spiritual death to spiritual life through faith in Jesus Christ. Using the powerful example of Paul’s confrontation with Peter in Galatians, we are reminded that no amount of religious effort can add to what Jesus has already done on the cross. Justification comes by faith alone, and we are called to live in the freedom and grace that the gospel brings.
This message challenges us to examine where we are in our walk with God and how we can fully rely on His grace rather than our own efforts. Take some time to reflect on these truths and grow in your relationship with Jesus.
Discussion Questions for Small Groups:
- What does it mean to move from “Selfie 1” (spiritual death) to “Selfie 2” (spiritual life) in your own faith journey?
- How has legalism or religious rules hindered your relationship with God in the past?
- Pastor Rick shared about Paul’s confrontation with Peter. What can we learn from this story about standing firm in the truth of the gospel?
- What role does personal faith in Jesus play in your day-to-day life, and how can you rely more on His grace?
- How does the concept of being crucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20) impact your perspective on living as a follower of Jesus?
